Naya Raipur city for 5.6 Lakh population is proposed to be developed in three phases.
The estimated power requirement of enter Naya Raipur is of 250 MW in likely to grow
in phase on follows.

Phase I - The estimate power requirement in Ist phase is 123 MW. To cater
this load 1 no 220/132 KV & 2 no 132/33 KV transmission grid, 12 Nos 33/11 KV &
3 no 33 KV switching substation would be establish.

Phase II - The estimate power requirement in 2nd phase in town. To cater
this load 1 no 220/132/33 KV & 3 Nos 33/11KV substation would be establish.

Phase III - The estimate power requirement in 3rd phase in 57 MW. To cater
this load 1 no 132/33 KV & 3 Nos 33/11 KV substation would be establish.

Power supply up to 132 KV voltage level will be taken through overhead system &
up to 33 KV voltage should be taken through underground system. The cables will
be taken through underground Pucca trench. To ensure minimum interruption of power
supply, the underground system of 33 & 11 KV will be connected is ring main. All
33/11 KV substation be establish would be indoor type. The SCADA (Supervisory Control
and Date Acquisition) is going to be introducing up to distribution transformer
to have online monitoring and control of power supply. In street lighting we are
going to use latest technologies (T-5, LED's (light emitting diodes) instead of
sodium vapours lamps.) We have also proposed solar lighting system for SSB building
by installation of solar panel's on roof of capital complex building except secretariat
building. For street light it was also decided to use solar energy for which a solar
power plant is going to be establish at kuhera. Installation of solar panel & operation
& maintenance will be carried out by CREDA.
